TURKEY MINCE SANDWICH

I don’t often buy turkey but when I do it usually is some minced turkey. Its great for making this sandwich filling but you can use the same filling to put in a wrap or a taco if you prefer. This delicious mince turkey is great to be enjoyed with some naan or roti as well. Add some cheese and its the perfect sandwich to be enjoyed in some sourdough.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • grated cheddar cheese
  • chilli garlic chutney
  • 4 slices of sourdough
  • olive oil to cook

Method

Heat the oil in a pan and add the onions. Cook on low heat for 5 minutes and then add the garlic. Once the onions have softened add the tomatoes and let them cook for 5 minutes.

Now add the spices and mix well. Add a splash of water and then the mince turkey and mix well. Cook this for 8-10 minutes on medium heat until the turkey is cooked. Leave this aside to cool.

Now add the grated cheddar to the mince mix. Place a slice of bread then some of the turkey filling, drizzle some chilli chutney and place another piece of bread on top.

Cook this on a hot pan with a drizzle of oil until golden and crispy. Enjoy.
