
March is carrot season in India so I decided to make this dish with my mum as she makes the best Gajar Ka Halwa in town!
Ingredients
500g Carrots, peeled and grated
1 litre whole milk
3 tbsp sugar
1 small handful cashews, roughly chopped
1 small handful almonds, roughly chopped
3 tbsp ghee
Method
– Add the carrots and milk to a hot pan. Cook on low heat for 30 minutes. Stir regularly.
– Add the sugar and mix well. Cook for another 10 minutes.
– Add the cashews and almonds. Stir through and cook for 5 minutes.
– Add the ghee and mix well. Cook for 2 more minutes.
