5 Ingredient Indian

For the last 10 years I have been on a mission to simplify Indian home cooking and in my new book, 5 Ingredient Indian, I have set myself the challenge of creating delicious, authentic and tasty recipes with just 5 ingredients.

Combining bold flavours and straightforward cooking methods the recipes are divided into sections

The 5 ingredients featured in each recipe include the meat, veg, pulses or dairy, the spices and the herbs. In addition to those 5, there are, of course, a few basic store cupboard ingredients, things we all have readily available, such as salt, pepper, cooking oil, chilli powder and sugar. And the key to achieving the flavour in many recipes are my five spice blends or ‘masala’. Staying true to the book’s concept each spice blend includes just five ingredients, each of which can be prepared in advance for ease. 

With 5 Ingredient Indian, I want to show how everyone—from students and first-time chefs to experienced cooks—can make a delicious Indian meal at home using these effortless yet impressive recipes that also save time and money.
