KitKat Brownies

These super simple and delicious brownies are a true melt-in-you-mouth crowd-pleaser. 

300g unsalted butter
300g dark chocolate
150g golden caster sugar
5 eggs
150g plain flour
50g cocoa powder
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 KitKat bars (8 fingers), roughly chopped
2 KitKat bars for decoration (optional)

– Preheat the oven to 180°C / 160°C with a fan

– Grease and line a large, rectangular baking pan. 

– Add the butter and chocolate to a pan, and melt on low heat. Stir regularly to combine.

– Add the sugar and eggs to a free-standing electric mixer. Whisk until fluffy.

– Add the melted chocolate and butter mixture, and whisk until combined.

– Add the plain flour, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla extract. Fold everything in with a spoon.

– Pour half the mixture into the baking pan and sprinkle over the chopped KitKats. Pour the rest of the mixture on top and spread to all corners of the pan. Option to add more KitKats on top. Place the pan in the oven, and bake for 25 minutes.

– Once baked, remove it from the pan and let it sit for at least 20 minutes before slicing it up to enjoy.
