Homemade White Loaf

I’m going to teach you how to truly make the perfect loaf.
Ingredients
400g strong white/bread flour
7g fast-action yeast
7g salt
30g butter, softened
250ml water, warm
olive oil
Method
– Add the flour, fast-action yeast, salt, and butter to an electric mixer.
– Then, slowly add the water a little bit at a time and mix with your hands until you form a soft dough. Use the dough-hook attachment to then knead the dough for 8 minutes.
– Lightly coat a large bowl with olive oil. Place the dough in the bowl, cover it, and let it prove for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
– Lightly coat a bread tin with oil. Gently knead the dough on your counter to remove any excess air. Roll it into a long oval, ensuring that the top is smooth. Transfer the dough to the bread tin.
– Cover the dough with a clean, dampened tea towel and let it prove for another hour.
– Preheat the oven to 220°C / 200°C with a fan. If you oven does not have a built-in steam function, then add a tray of water to the bottom of the oven.
– Sprinkle some flour on top of your dough. Place it in the oven and cook for 30 minutes.
– Remove the bread from the oven and place it on a cooling tray. Lightly coat the top of loaf with butter whilst it’s still warm.
Enjoy with some butter and jam or whatever you like!
