This is my take on french toast, it’s a bit rich and more like a dessert!
To bake you own fresh brioche loaf you can follow this recipe.
Ingredients
brioche loaf, sliced thickly
200ml milk
100ml double cream
2 tbsp dark brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ ground cardamom
½ tbsp butter
oil of choice
ice cream
honey/ syrup of choice
Method
– In a bowl, add the milk, double cream, dark brown sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and ground cardamom. Whisk thoroughly. Transfer to a shallow bowl.
– Add the butter and 1 tbsp oil to a hot pan. Coat a slice of brioche in the custard and transfer it to the hot pan. Lower the heat and cook for 2 minutes on each side. Repeat the process with each slice.
Plate the toast and serve with 2 scoops of ice cream with a drizzle of honey – enjoy!
