This is a simple and delicious way to use up little bits of leftover chocolates adding tons of flavour and textures. These are great as snacks or gifts or for the party. This recipe is from One Tin Bakes Easy by Edd Kimber.
Ingredients
170g unsalted butter, softened
125g caster sugar
125g soft brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
310g plain flour
¾ tsp bicarbonate of soda
¾ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
170g dark chocolate chips
anything in your cupboard
(I used:
70g leftover crisps
100g leftover chocolates & pretzels
70g berry mix)
Method
– Add butter and sugars to a mixing bowl and beat until pale and creamy.
– Add vanilla extract and mix through.
– Add eggs and mix through.
– Add flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder and salt and mix to combine.
– Mix in the cupboard extras, keeping some back for the topping.
– Add mix to a greased and lined baking tin and smooth evenly.
– Sprinkle the dark chocolate chips and other bits held back on top.
– Bake in a preheated oven at 180°c for 25-30 minutes until browned.
– Leave to cool in tray for at least an hour.
– Lift from tray and cut into slices.
Serve.
