Easy after school snacks!
Eggless Chocolate mug cake
4 tbsp golden caster sugar
4 tbsp plain flour
1 tbsp cocoa powder
pinch of salt (1/8th tsp)
pinch of baking powder (1/8th tsp)
3 tbsp milk
2 tbsp oil (I used rapeseed oil)
5 pieces of dark chocolate
Whisk all ingredients together in a large mug. Microwave at 900 W for 1 min 20 seconds
Vanilla Mug Cake with nutella
4 tbsp plain flour
3 tbsp golden caster sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp melted butter
1 large egg
2 tbsp milk
1 tbsp nutella
Whisk all ingredients together in a large mug. Microwave at 900 W for 1 min 20 seconds

What a great idea and thanks for the recipe. However, 4 tablespoons seems like an awful lot of sugar for a mug cake… could you substitute with a couple of tablespoons of maple syrup instead?
I made the chocolate mug cake tonight. It is way delicious, and sort of surprising how well the way the recipe works (I must confess, I had some doubts.) Perfect portion size. Tomorrow I will try the vanilla cake. Thank you!
